5 years ago we started the Dysfunctional Family Gathering as an annual memorial to our fallen comrade Dysfunctional Mike. This year we also honor and celebrate the life of Peter Sandifer AKA Boomerang Fidget, who passed away unexpectedly last April. He was also in our extended family, a wicked chill room MC and DJ, an inspirational poet, and all around great guy. We know Dysfunctional Mike and Boomerang have crossed paths numerous times during their lifetimes, Hopefully they have been reunited on the other side.

Onto the event, We have a great, secluded park in Sunnyvale where we throw this event. We rent a private pavilion with huge communal BBQ pits, adjacent grass and trees, and nearby bathrooms and playgrounds

This event will take place on Saturday, June 15th at Baylands Park, Sunnyvale, in the Pickleweed Place pavilion (same place as last year). The details:

Located at Baylands Park

The Lineup

Joe Rice

(FnF, Cloud Factory)

We're super stoked to have the man, myth and legend Joe Rice come down and play with us. From his days with FnF, MAD, Justice League, and Cloudfactory...to his always over-the-top contributions to the annual OODE Oregon campout. He's also a wicked bartender, ask him to make you a Chocolate Martini :-)

(FnF, Viberation)

Dan AKA Micron was one of those super hot trance DJs in the late 90's. He was like on every other flyer you came across. We're sure he's had his fair share of raver-kid groupies back then ;-) We'll, he's still DJ'ing, but now as a family man with a mature focus. He's coming to play his set on the 15th immediately after doing a triathalon. Ask him how he did!

(Ambient Mafia)

Shane is a race car diver. He likes to tinker with cars and make them go really fast. He can build battle bots. He plays Warhammer. He spends much of his time tinkering with his Porsche 944 in his man-cave garage. For work he builds tool for Internet counter-terrorism. And he's helped throw a ridiculous amount of parties in his day. He's an Ambient Mafia DJ. I guess that's what you call a modern-day Renaissance man.

Actual Rafiq

(Ambient Mafia)

Actual Rafiq was born in the future and raised in the past. He currently lives beneath the fault lines of NorCal in the Earth’s mantle. His 2009 electro remix of French producer Fred Worx’s “Everything is Lies” (MIZ039) was released on Beatport by Mizumo Music. And remember, much like a mogwai, he should NEVER be fed after midnight.

Kind Herb

(Cloud Factory)

Herb left us to live in Hawaii for several years to get his kama'aina on. He's had his adventure, and now he's back and has discovered the wonders of Traktor and Drum & Bass. He'll actually be working at his job at a nearby high-tech company on the saturday of the party. He'll be escaping work during lunch to come and play a set for us. Shaka, brah!

Terry Estioko

(Viberation, DFG)

Terry's better known as the visuals guy, as he's done visuals for hundreds of parties in the Bay Area over the last 17 years. He is also known for his contributions with Harmony, Cloud Factory, FnF, Moksha Tribe, SFRaves and his own Viberation parties. He has done visuals and video stage production for events including Skills, Opulent Temple, Evil Breaks, TEDx and many others. Terry and Paula just had a baby named Brandon Lee, who will be making one of his first public appearances at DFG :-)
